About the event

Southwest Wisconsin is known for some spectacular back roads and our fall trip is headed that direction!  Come join your BMW friends on an enjoyable ride featuring great attractions, beautiful scenery, delicious food and, of course, fabulous roads.  The trip is limited to 8 couples, so don't delay in signing up.

Here's what we plan to see along the way.  We will depart from Apple Valley, MN on Friday, September 15 at 9:00 a.m.  Headed southeast along the Mississippi River, we'll cross into Wisconsin at Winona and will make sure to traverse the legendary and always entertaining Mindoro Cut northeast of LaCrosse.  We all know our BMWs prefer twisty two-lanes, so we plan to avoid freeways and interstates where possible.  Our lodging on Friday night will be at the Hillsboro Hotel in Hillsboro, WI (www.hotelhillsboro.com).  Depending on the group's preference, we'll dine in Hillsboro or the neighboring town of Wonewoc.

Saturday we will head south on back roads through Spring Green, WI (home of Frank Lloyd Wright) en route to New Glarus, WI (home of the New Glarus Brewery and Spotted Cow Beer - www.newglarusbrewing.com).  We'll tour the brewery and enjoy the quaint Swiss downtown before departing for our lodging destination for the night in Mt. Horeb, WI (www.grandstaymounthoreb.com).  Dinner will be in Mt. Horeb at a local downtown restaurant.

Sunday morning we'll head to Baraboo, WI to visit Circus World, which was once home to the Ringling Circus and is now a National Historic Landmark (www.wisconsinhistory.org). It's really quite the attraction and is worth seeing.  Afterwards we'll start the trek back to Minnesota stopping along the way for dinner.

Interested?  If so, here are the steps you need to take to reserve your spot on this spectacular Fall road trip.

First, visit MotorsportReg and sign up for the trip (www.motorsportreg.com).  There is no cost to register, but of course, you are responsible for all costs incurred along the way (meals, hotels, gas, admission costs, etc.) Hotel rooms are already booked at both hotels and we will switch the registration to your name and credit card once you have registered on MotorsportReg.  The rate in Hillsboro is $166 per room and the rate in Mt. Horeb is $190 per room.

All participants will receive detailed route instructions at the beginning of the trip.  As always, trip details are subject to modification based on unforeseen circumstances.  All participants will be required to sign a liability waiver form as required by the BMW Car Club of America.

Before long the snowflakes will be flying.  Come treat your BMW (and yourself) to this special road trip.  You won't want to miss it!

Event requirements

All participants (drivers and passengers) are required to sign a Release and Waiver of Liability form prior to departure

When you register, be sure to add your passengers too.  This will assist in planning meals and activities for the long weekend. Thanks!
